Science Consulting & Publishing

We are Elisabeth Bik and Gerard Harbers. Harbers Bik LLC is home to our work as scientists and, now, as publishers. Elisabeth, a microbiologist turned science integrity consultant, finds manipulated and duplicated images in published research. Her work has flagged thousands of problematic papers and earned her the John Maddox Prize. Gerard, an engineering physicist and lighting technologist, writes about color science and builds tools to calculate it. Harbik Press, our small independent imprint, has its first two books on the way: one on the long quest to define color, the other a boy’s story of hunger and hope in occupied Holland.
